The Community of the Mother of Jesus

Ministry: Br. Ricky helps gather food for food shelters in the Portland area, and he counsels people in need at the local dog park where he walks his guide dog. He also posts daily meditations on the saint of the day on Facebook.

I always felt a call to ministry of some kind. Being a religious in the CMJ helps me in my prayer life, and the ministry I do through my parish for the food pantries and the poor. I love the feeling of community I get from being in the CMJ.I enjoy being able to help the poor and the homeless, especially when I have helped cook for them at the church chili dinners.
